About Myself
The cultural history of Tokaji wine has been my passion for more than 25 years, and this quest leads directly to very old Tokaji bottles which I present on this site. It is not a dry topic ;) and a perfect counterweight to my main job as entrepreneur. My Tokaji related projects are 100% driven by personal interest and passion. I am and act completely independent and I am not governed, paid by or otherwise affiliated with any winemaker or winery, wine trade company, publisher, auction house, marketing agency, educational institution, government department etc.
For full disclosure I add that since 2003 I am proud member of the Confrérie de Tokaj.
My Work
Mission
To present the key facts and findings of my tokaji related research to the public. Many of the results I share here have never been published before or are widely unknown. I do hope that my efforts help to expand our body of knowledge about this remarkable wine.
Network
I do collaborate with numerous partners such as collectors, museums, historians, winemakers, auction houses, research labs and experts in several related fields. If you'd like to join my network or look for other tokaji enthusiasts please don't hesitate to contact me.
Book project
My main contribution in the field of tokaji is a forthcoming book about its cultural history. The manuscript is quite extensive and growing ... I am thankful for any new piece of historic background, references to culture, arts and literature related to Tokaji.
Bottles
Unless stated otherwise all bottles, documents and artefacts presented on this page are privately owned and generally not for sale. There are exceptions though. If you are interested to own an old tokaji bottle or exchange one you own for another one I can sometimes establish contact to other owners.
